Do you know about MYLO? MYLO links pupils' favourite interests with things that they like doing on the internet - playing games, creating blogs and movies, and sharing and working with others - making learning languages exciting and fun!

MYLO Chinese: The Chinese section of MYLO has been launched but there is still much more content to come, especially in the Challenges sections. Included in the Chinese module is an excellent pinyin input Character writing tool. It works really well and is easy to use.

 

The Launch of the first Irish Centre for ChineseTeachers' Training and

the Inaugural Chinese Language Teachers' Workshop in Ireland

The first Chinese Language Teachers' Workshop in Ireland was held in UCC on Saturday 26^th Febuary 2011. The Irish Centre for Chinese Teachers' Training was launched at the Workshop. The training centre is within UCC's School of Asian Studies and is the first institution of its kind in Ireland and will play a hugely important role in the development of Chinese language teaching in Ireland. The Workshop also launched two Chinese teaching curricula and two textbooks, both presented by the Irish Institute of Chinese Studies (UCC) and UCC Confucius Institute.
